This class uses both Japanese and English language for communication. Those who register to this class are expected to have at least B2 level (CEFR) of English proficiency level, so that they are able to follow the lecture conducted in English.
In January 1st of 2016 the United Nations officially released the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which officially launched the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In less than 10 years from now, the SDGs will be a key to generate global activities to end all forms of social wicked problems, in order to fight inequalities and reduce climate change.
This course will examine the relationship between SDGs, community problems and current sustainable and social solutions to serve as a starting point for developing new solutions that might serve as the business or social cases.
This class consists of a series of lectures and a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) experience, in which students will communicate with the students overseas through PBL (project-based learning). The class expects the students to be active participants who take an initiative on their own learning. Some of the universities which this class may be collaborating with in the COIL component are located in the United States, Australia, India, Spain, Ghana, Jordan, and Chile.
This course is going to utilize zoom and LMS to enable all the international students from different countries and regions to study together.
This class may adopt COIL practice (Collaborative Online International Learning), in which students will connect online with overseas students to work collaboratively to complete a project. COIL aims to provide learning opportunities for the students to gain desirable employability qualities, such as intercultural competency, digital literacy, leadership skills, ect. *For more information about COIL for this course, please directly contact the instructor or ask them at the first class.
本科目は「COIL(Collaborative Online International Learning:海外との協働学習)」を取り入れる場合があります。
