授業概要 / Course Description
This course has two main purposes: (1) developing oral communication and presentation skills, and (2) empowering students to make the most of their Study Abroad experience. In their streamed classes, students will engage in interactive activities designed to:
• participate successfully in paired and group discussions;
• plan, organize, and deliver effective presentations by following specific guidelines;
• improve listening and pronunciation skills through in-class listening quizzes and shadowing homework;
• develop note-taking skills using listening-/lecture-based materials;
• strengthen critical thinking by brainstorming, supporting opinions, considering values, making decisions, solving problems, and analyzing issues;
• analyze the effectiveness of discussions and presentations through self and peer evaluations;
• gain awareness of basic cross-cultural issues; and
• take responsibility for their own learning through various learner-training activities.
Additionally, the course includes an on-demand lecture series, featuring two videos released during the semester on Study Abroad topics. These lectures address issues such as choosing a destination, improving language and study skills, university life abroad, adjusting expectations, and staying safe. Each lecture is followed by a synchronous online tutorial to discuss the lecture content with classmates and the teacher, as well as an online quiz.学位授与方針との関係 / Related Diploma Policy
