授業概要 / Course Description
This course is an introduction to Business for SDGs. Students will learn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and the UN Global Compact and how they relate to business. Through case studies, readings, and a group/pair/individual project, students will explore the role of the private sector in achieving the SDGs and learn how businesses can contribute to a sustainable future. More specifically, the group/pair/individual project will include analyzing a company using positioning maps, value chains, and logic models. After students will recommend a new SDG activity for the company and make a creative marketing commercial.
授業は全て英語で行われます。履修する学生は以下の語学力(相当)を必要とします:
GTEC 260以上
TOEFL ITP 505以上
TOEFL iBT 60以上
TOEIC 580以上
IELTS 5.0
英検準1級以上
CEFR B1
・本科目は、入学時及び2年進級時に受験しているプレースメントテスト(GTECまたはTOEFL ITP)のスコアを利用し、履修者が定員を超過した場合は上記スコア要件に合致していない学生から優先的に削除されます。本科目の受講を希望しており、GTEC受験以降に上記のスコアに相当する語学力を取得した者は、事後抽選日の2日前(土日祝日を除く)までに各種テストの証明書コピーを国際教育支援室まで提出してください。また、スコア要件に合致している学生で定員を超過した場合は、無作為抽選となります。
・上記スコアを所持していない学生は、先に留学準備スキルアップ科目を修得する等、CEFR B1以上の取得を目指してください。
到達目標 / Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will:
a. Learn - Understand the 17 UN SDGs and their targets. Explore the relationship between business and sustainable development.
b. Examples - Discuss examples of companies that have successfully integrated SDGs into their business strategies.
c. Skills - Develop critical thinking and research skills through assignments and discussions. Analyze a company value chain with SDGs and create a logic model for SDG activities.
d. Challenges - Identify and analyze examples of greenwashing and other sustainability challenges.
e. Group - Collaborate effectively in a group or pair project to develop a sustainable business solution.
f. Reflection - Reflect on personal and societal responsibility for achieving the SDGs.授業手法 / Teaching Methods
