授業概要 / Course Description
Washoku was registered an Intangible World Heritage, and ever since belief has wide spread that Washoku is genuinely a healthy diet. Some belief has a sound basis, and others do not. In this course, we try to explain both merit and demerit of Washoku, and guide you to a point of becoming able to compose healthy diet for your own based on what have been learnt during the course.
授業は全て英語で行われます。履修する学生は以下の語学力（相当）を必要とします：
GTEC 260以上
TOEFL ITP 505以上
TOEFL iBT 60以上
TOEIC 580以上
IELTS 5.0
英検準１級以上
CEFR B1
・本科目は、入学時及び２年進級時に受験しているプレースメントテスト（GTECまたはTOEFL ITP）のスコアを利用し、履修者が定員を超過した場合は上記スコア要件に合致していない学生から優先的に削除されます。本科目の受講を希望しており、GTEC受験以降に上記のスコアに相当する語学力を取得した者は、事後抽選日の2日前（土日祝日を除く）までに各種テストの証明書コピーを国際教育支援室まで提出してください。また、スコア要件に合致している学生で定員を超過した場合は、無作為抽選となります。
・上記スコアを所持していない学生は、先に留学準備スキルアップ科目を修得する等、CEFR B1以上の取得を目指してください。
到達目標 / Course Objectives
Clear understanding of both beneficial and non-beneficial aspect of Washoku, and become able to utilize acquired knowledge in daily diet.

Class 1: Introduction of the course
Class 2-6: History of how Washoku has evolved
Class 7-9: Proven merit of Washoku
Class 10-11: Proven demerit of Washoku
Class 12: Subjects not yet studied well enough
Class 13-15: Group work on how to compose healthy diet for your own授業時間外学習 / Expected work outside of class
Review textbook after attending the class. Prepare presentation on a theme given for the next class.

定期試験を行わず、平常試験(小テスト・レポート等)で総合評価する。
Attendance and active participation in the discussion: 60%
Small tests for a confirmation of understandings： 15%

Other Comments (1) No periodic test. Attendance and submission of your report will be used as a base for your grading.
(2) Do use "message" in the LMS for your contact with the lecturer
(3) Grading will be based on the quality and quantity of the report that you are requested to submit on each subject that is going to be posted in the LMS. Submission of report also is counted as your attendance as well.
