This course offers an extensive exploration of individual differences (IDs) in language learning such as age, learning styles, learning strategies, beliefs, and other IDs, with a particular emphasis on Second Language (L2) motivation and learning strategies.

授業時間外学習 / Expected work outside of class

Students will be given a reading assignment each week to be completed outside of class. These readings will be related to the topics covered in the course and will help students deepen their understanding of the material. Students are expected to complete the assigned readings before the next class session, as the content may be discussed in class or be included in the upcoming quiz.

定期試験を行わず、平常試験(小テスト・レポート等)で総合評価する。
Grades will be weighted as follows:
・Class (10%): Active Participation
・Review + Reading assignment quiz (36%)
・Term-End Exam (29%)
・Presentation (25%)

Evaluation Criteria/Assessment Policy for this course may include the following:
1) Attendance and participation: Students are expected to attend all classes and actively participate in class discussions and activities.
2) Weekly Quiz: Students will receive a weekly quiz that assesses their understanding of the material covered in the previous week's class and the assigned reading.
3) Term-End Exam
This exam assesses students' understanding of the topics dealt with in the class. The exam will last 60 minutes and include a descriptive question.
4) Presentation: Students will be presenting the results of their small-scale research project. (30 minutes, including a 10-minute Q&A session)
The presentation will be evaluated based on several criteria, including content, organization, use of visual aids, creativity, and interaction with the audience at a Q&A session.
