英語(English)授業概要 / Course Description
<秋>
In this survey course, students will be introduced to the basic elements of linguistics and several branches of linguistic research and analysis. Specifically, students will begin the course by learning about the theoretical and fundamental aspects of linguistics. Students will then learn about sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, and other branches of linguistic research and analysis. Assessments are designed to reinforce knowledge acquired throughout the course and engage students through experiential learning (i.e., learning by doing) and practical linguistic exercises. This course is conducted in English but will use Japanese and other languages to explore the various elements of linguistics. Students should also reflect on their language learning experiences throughout the course.
