授業概要 / Course Description
This lecture series aims to discuss the 'Ideas of India' and how the history and present are ceaselessly transforming India which is one of the ancient and living civilisations of the world. Today in the twenty-first century how the world looks at India and how India as a 'young republic' sees the rest of the world is a fascinating story to discuss. This lecture essentially visits the historical transformation of India and explores some of the key milestones in its long journey to emerge on the global platform. The lecture series has been carefully designed to give an insight into the dynamic story of the country with its contributions and role in the uncertain and rapidly changing world.
授業は全て英語で行われます。履修する学生は以下の語学力（相当）を必要とします：
GTEC 260以上
TOEFL ITP 505以上
TOEFL iBT 60以上
TOEIC 580以上
IELTS 5.0
英検準１級以上
CEFR B1
・本科目は、入学時及び２年進級時に受験しているプレースメントテスト（GTECまたはTOEFL ITP）のスコアを利用し、履修者が定員を超過した場合は上記スコア要件に合致していない学生から優先的に削除されます。本科目の受講を希望しており、GTEC受験以降に上記のスコアに相当する語学力を取得した者は、事後抽選日の2日前（土日祝日を除く）までに各種テストの証明書コピーを国際教育支援室まで提出してください。また、スコア要件に合致している学生で定員を超過した場合は、無作為抽選となります。
・上記スコアを所持していない学生は、先に留学準備スキルアップ科目を修得する等、CEFR B1以上の取得を目指してください。到達目標 / Course Objectives

Students will comprehend the complexities and different perspectives of studying a particular country. With the interdisciplinary methods and tools, this course enables students to study India.

The course encourages students to reflect on the rapid transformation happening worldwide and actively participate in the discussion. This will help the student to articulate his or her opinion.
③主体的な態度の観点

Students are expected to read provided articles and essays on various aspects of Indian history and civilisation as well as current developments in India to participate in discussion in the classroom.

定期試験を行わず、平常試験(小テスト・レポート等)で総合評価する。
Attendance and active participation: 30%
Book review and film review: 30%

Grading will depend upon the degree to which each student participates in the class and demonstrates a basic understanding of the ongoing transformation of Indian culture.

This class provides an opportunity to learn about the dynamism of Indian culture's transformation.
③主体的な態度の観点
t assists students in relativizing their own culture as well as explaining the diversity and universality of Indian culture in the context of globalisation. It encourages students to actively participate in classroom discussions while also expressing their own opinions.
