授業概要 / Course Description
This is an introductory course on Japanese law and politics. With the historical and comparative perspectives, the course approaches the law and politics of Japan, focusing on the political ideas, systems, actors, as well as domestic and foreign policies. Students are encouraged to bring in their comparative perspective in the class and actively exchange their views based on their personal experiences in Japan.
授業は全て英語で行われます。履修する学生は以下の語学力（相当）を必要とします：
GTEC 260以上
TOEFL ITP 505以上
TOEFL iBT 60以上
TOEIC 580以上
IELTS 5.0
英検準１級以上
CEFR B1
・本科目は、入学時及び２年進級時に受験しているプレースメントテスト（GTECまたはTOEFL ITP）のスコアを利用し、履修者が定員を超過した場合は上記スコア要件に合致していない学生から優先的に削除されます。本科目の受講を希望しており、GTEC受験以降に上記のスコアに相当する語学力を取得した者は、事後抽選日の2日前（土日祝日を除く）までに各種テストの証明書コピーを国際教育支援室まで提出してください。また、スコア要件に合致している学生で定員を超過した場合は、無作為抽選となります。
・上記スコアを所持していない学生は、先に留学準備スキルアップ科目を修得する等、CEFR B1以上の取得を目指してください。

After completing this course, students will be able to:
- have a better understanding of Japanese legal and political system,
- make their own arguments about these issues, and

A basic understanding of Japanese law, politics, political institutions, domestic and foreign policies, and political actors.
