授業概要 / Course Description
Food safety is an essential part of our life, but is not placed as much importance as it actually deserves. This is because people are not provided with appropriate level of knowledge that makes them understand what will be a consequence if basic rule of food safety is not followed. In this course, we will take a look of how food safety concept has been established in our society, and major changes in our way of life that was induced by the accumulated knowledge of food safety. Toward the end of this course, attendants are guided to formulate a simplified HACCP for their food so that they will know what they must cast a big attention in the aspect of food safety.
授業は全て英語で行われます。履修する学生は以下の語学力(相当)を必要とします:
GTEC 260以上
TOEFL ITP 505以上
TOEFL iBT 60以上
TOEIC 580以上
IELTS 5.0
英検準1級以上
CEFR B1
・本科目は、入学時及び2年進級時に受験しているプレースメントテスト(GTECまたはTOEFL ITP)のスコアを利用し、履修者が定員を超過した場合は上記スコア要件に合致していない学生から優先的に削除されます。本科目の受講を希望しており、GTEC受験以降に上記のスコアに相当する語学力を取得した者は、事後抽選日の2日前(土日祝日を除く)までに各種テストの証明書コピーを国際教育支援室まで提出してください。また、スコア要件に合致している学生で定員を超過した場合は、無作為抽選となります。
・上記スコアを所持していない学生は、先に留学準備スキルアップ科目を修得する等、CEFR B1以上の取得を目指してください。
到達目標 / Course Objectives
Becoming able to create a HACCP as a team as the final gate for them to clear in the Class, and demonstrate they are able to apply their learnings also out of the class in their daily life.

Class 1~4 History of how human food safety established
Class 5~8 Basic understanding of hazard
Class 9~11 Basic understanding of HACCP
Class 12~14 Group work for creating HACCP for their own
Class 15 Thesis writing by individual and evaluation by the lecturer授業時間外学習 / Expected work outside of class
Review textbooks after the class. Prepare a presentation on a theme given for the next class.

定期試験を行わず、平常試験(小テスト・レポート等)で総合評価する。
Attendance and active participation in the discussion: 60%
Presentation during the course: 20%
