授業概要 / Course Description
While looking at the development of Japan’s post-World War II political economy, this course especially focuses on policy-related issues in the Japanese economy and financial markets since the 1990s. Japan’s transition from the high-growth period to a matured economy around the end of the 1970s, trade disputes with advanced industrial economies and international economic coordination in the 1970s and 80s, the bursting of the bubble/ financial crisis/ and economic stagnation in the 1990s are key events to be discussed. Students will also learn about recent economic policies, such as Abenomics, and economic situation in Japan.
授業は全て英語で行われます。履修する学生は以下の語学力(相当)を必要とします:

TOEFL ITP 505以上
TOEFL iBT 60以上
TOEIC 580以上
IELTS 5.0
英検準1級以上
CEFR B1
・本科目は、入学時及び2年進級時に受験しているプレースメントテスト(GTECまたはTOEFL ITP)のスコアを利用し、履修者が定員を超過した場合は上記スコア要件に合致していない学生から優先的に削除されます。本科目の受講を希望しており、GTEC受験以降に上記のスコアに相当する語学力を取得した者は、事後抽選日の2日前(土日祝日を除く)までに各種テストの証明書コピーを国際教育支援室まで提出してください。また、スコア要件に合致している学生で定員を超過した場合は、無作為抽選となります。
・上記スコアを所持していない学生は、先に留学準備スキルアップ科目を修得する等、CEFR B1以上の取得を目指してください。到達目標 / Course Objectives
At the end of this course, students are expected to have gained a basic understanding of economics and finance in Japan and to be able to analyze contemporary issues of the Japanese economy.

定期試験を行わず、平常試験(小テスト・レポート等)で総合評価する。

Evaluation will be made based on active participation, constructive comments and discussions, effective and well-studied presentations and writings. Data/source choices and citation practices will be also taken into consideration in terms of adequacy, effectiveness, and accuracy.
